Library Set Up 02: Muthiyammagama School
Description
In September 2022, I had the privilege of contributing to the educational development of Muthiyammagama School in the Hambantota District of Southern Province, SRI LANKA. This initiative aimed to enrich the learning environment for 187 students by establishing a well-equipped library.
Key Contributions:
- Book Donation: Donated approximately 150 books to establish the school’s library.
- Student Support: Provided paper books, workbooks, and essential stationery (pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, and color pencil boxes) to every student in Grades 4 and 5.
- Essential Aid: Provided a first aid box for immediate medical needs.
- Student Encouragement: Distributed small gifts to students to foster a positive learning environment.
Conclusion
This experience reinforced the power of collective effort and the joy of giving back to the community. We hope that this library will inspire a love for reading, foster creativity, and empower students to reach their full potential.
The impact of this initiative is far-reaching:
